Attacked using knuckle punch, stabbed on neck in counter-attack; dispute among friends result in murder; drug use suspected

VADAKKENCHERRY: A man was stabbed to death in a dispute between friends. The deceased is Manu (24), a native of Kalliyankadu, Anjumoorthy Mangalam. The incident took place in Chozhiyakkadu, Anchumoorthy Mangalam on Thursday midnight. The Vadakkencherry police have arrested Vishnu (23), a native of Chozhiyakkadu, Anjumoorthy Mangalam in connection with the incident.

A dispute between Vishnu and Manu over a financial transaction is what resulted in the murder. Police said that both were under the infulence of drugs at the time of the incident. Manu had borrowed Rs 6,000 from Vishnu. It is said that there was a dispute between the two regarding Manu not returning this money. On Thursday night, Manu called Vishnu to the field in Chozhiyakkadu, promising to return the money. Following the dispute that broke out here, Manu beat Vishnu with a knuckle punch. At this time, Vishnu took out a knife he was keeping in his hand and stabbed Manu in the neck.
