Director and Bigg Boss star Akhil Marar has addressed the recent rumours about the health of Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty. Taking to his Facebook page, Akhil questioned, "Are there any people in this world who don’t fall ill?"

Akhil explained that Mammootty had developed gastric issues while preparing for his film shoots without paying sufficient attention to his health. Upon experiencing discomfort, the actor underwent medical tests.

In his post, Akhil also clarified that Mammootty’s trip to the United States was prompted by delays in the schedules of fellow actors Mohanlal and Nayanthara. He further explained that the purpose of the trip was for Mammootty to focus on his health and to avoid the disturbance caused by the overwhelming affection from his fans during his hospital stay.

Akhil shared that when he recently reached out to Mammootty to inquire about his well-being, he received a response confirming that the actor was feeling fine.

Unnecessary controversies have erupted regarding Mammootty's health, with online media outlets indulging in arguments and counterarguments to fuel the issue.

One media outlet is behind such stories, for two main reasons. First, Mammootty indeed had some minor health issues, and second, the media owner harbours animosity towards the filmmakers. The strategy in the news was to use the truth as a backdrop while attacking his perceived enemy.

In the ongoing project, the Mammootty-Mohanlal collaboration under Mahesh Narayanan, Mammootty has been travelling across several countries for over 100 days, acting with full commitment and energy, despite challenging scenes and his age. However, he reached a point where he couldn’t maintain the dietary regimen he once followed due to the rigorous schedule.
