Famous model, make-up artist held with 15 kg hybrid cannabis in Kochi

NEDUMBASSERY: Two North Indian women were caught by customs at Kochi airport with 15 kg of hybrid cannabis worth Rs 4.5 crore. The arrested are model Manvi Choudhary, a native of Jaipur, Rajasthan, and makeup artist Chibat Swanti, a native of Delhi.

They arrived from Bangkok on a Thai Airways flight on Tuesday night. Both were carrying 7.5 kg of cannabis each. The customs had received a tip-off about their arrival. On inspection, it was found that the cannabis was expertly packed with makeup products to evade identification during screening. The two were sent to Kochi with the assurance that a gang would meet them at the airport to collect the cannabis.

After preliminary interrogation, both will be produced before the Angamaly court. The Central Narcotics Control Bureau will also investigate the case.
