Barged into bank and attempted to hack woman to death; husband arrested

TALIPARAMBA: A man was arrested for barging into a bank and hacking his wife, a bank employee, in an attempt to murder her. The victim, Anupama (39), a cashier at the SBI Poovam branch, is a native of Alakode Arangam. She was severely injured and was admitted to Taliparamba Cooperative Hospital. She is now out of danger.

Anupama's husband, Anuroop (41), was caught by locals, tied up, and handed over to the police. The attack is said to have been triggered by family disputes. The incident took place around 3:10 PM on Thursday. Anoop who arrived at the bank called Anupama out to talk.

Anuroop had come to the bank and called Anupama outside to speak. During the conversation, he got enraged, pulled out a machete, and attacked her from behind. As Anupama ran back into the bank for safety, he chased her and tried to strike her again. Anuroop is a sales executive at a car showroom.
