THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More details emerged in the death of the Immigration Intelligence Bureau officer in Thiruvananthapuram the other day. Karakkakuzhi, Athirumkal native Megha (25), the only daughter of retired Govt ITI Principal Madhusoodhanan and Palakkad Collectorate employee Nisha, died tragically after being hit by a train at Pettah the other day.

The loco pilot said Megha was on the phone while walking through the track. Seeing the train coming, the young woman decided to lie on the track. The train which was moving from Thiruvananthapuram to Kollam splintered her

.

It is reported that Megha, even while lying on the track waiting death, continued with her phone call. The investigation is ongoing to find who she was talking with during those final moments. Pettah police had announced that they would collect information with the help of the cyber police, as the phone was wholly damaged after being hit by a train.

Megha’s family doubts foul play in the death and filed a complaint with the Pettah police and the IB, demanding a detailed investigation into the incident. Police believe that the death has something to do with a relationship breakup.

Relatives say that Megha was in love with a Malappuram native, an IB officer. Megha had told her family about this relationship. Though opposed at first, the family later agreed to her wish. It is believed that the relationship hit rock bottom in the past days, as Megha’s partner decided to walk away.
