THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mohanlal's long-awaited film Empuraan was released today. There were allegations that the film contains scenes referring to the 2002 Gujarat riots and criticism of Sangh Parivar organisations. BJP leader MT Ramesh has come out with a response in this situation.
He strongly reacted against the campaign to boycott Empuraan. 'A film should be seen as a film. The people of Kerala have the common sense for that. How many films have been released against the Sangh Parivar? Does the Sangh Parivar depend on cinema to function in this country?' MT Ramesh asked.
People from various parties had come out to praise the theme of Empuraan. Bineesh Kodiyeri had opined that some things are shown in the film in a raw way and for this, the courage is required. Former MLA and Congress leader VT Balram also commented on the film, saying that some people seemed to not like Empuraan.
