IB officer's death: Sukanth will be named an accused, will be charged with abetment to suicide, say police

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have taken crucial action in connection with the incident where an IB officer committed suicide in Thiruvananthapuram. Sukanth Suresh, the colleague and boyfriend of the deceased IB officer, will be named an accused in the case. The police are planning to charge Sukanth with abetment to suicide. Police have also issued a lookout notice against Sukanth, who is on the run.

The IB officer's family had earlier alleged that Sukanth Suresh was involved in her suicide. Her father alleged that Sukanth had extorted nearly Rs 3.5 lakhs from his daughter. The police are of the conclusion that the IB officer committed suicide following Sukanth's instigation. The investigating officials are collecting evidence. The police are conducting an investigation to ensure the authenticity of the evidence produced by the IB officer's family.

The police conducted searches in Kochi and Malappuram to trace Sukanth but were unsuccessful. The investigation is now being extended beyond Kerala, with officials focusing on his relatives and acquaintances. Authorities are also reviewing financial transactions between the deceased officer and Sukanth. The incident took place on March 24, when the female IB officer committed suicide by jumping in front of a train between Pettah and Chackai.
