Indian stabbed to death in Canada, suspect arrested

OTTAWA: A youth has been arrested for stabbing an Indian national to death in Canada. The youth was found dead in Rockland Saturday morning. The Indian Embassy in Canada informed that the suspect has been arrested. No further details about the murder have been released. The embassy said that all necessary assistance will be provided to the family of the youth.

There has been an increase in violence against Indian nationals in Canada recently. Visuals of a youth attacking an Indian woman at a Calgary railway station in Canada last month had emerged. The footage also shows that people not preventing him from the attack. There was widespread protest against this. In the video, the youth can be seen forcibly grabbing the bottle of water that was in her hand and pouring it on her face. He then grabbed the woman by the jacket and pushed her against a nearby wall and beat her.
