KOCHI: The employees of the Perumbavoor firm, caught in the controversy over the shame game, reiterated their stance on the issue by denying the rumors of employee assault. The youths who appeared in the controversial video that went viral yesterday have now responded to the media. They blamed Manaf, a former employee, for circulating the previously captured footage to take revenge on the general manager.

"The footage was filmed in the name of business development. It was later misinterpreted. A case will be filed against Manaf. It has been four months since the video was filmed. We are still with the company. All these videos are being spread to taint the repute of the company.”

The footage that emerged yesterday showed employees of Hindustan Powerlinks being subjected to brutal torture that included officers making juniors walk like dogs with leashes tied to their necks. Labour Minister V Sivankutty sought a report from the labour officer on the incident. The minister condemned the incident and initiated action against the harassment.
