MUMBAI: Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who had been out of action due to an injury, has returned to the Mumbai Indians squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team has confirmed that Bumrah will be playing in today's match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Bumrah rejoined the squad on April 5 and participated in practice sessions yesterday. A video shared by the Mumbai Indians on social media hinted that the star pacer is back in fiery form. In the video, a batter can be seen struggling against Bumrah’s deadly yorkers, eventually getting knocked over and clean bowled during practice.
Bumrah had sustained an injury earlier this year during the Australian tour and had missed the series against England as well as the Champions Trophy. His return is expected to boost the morale of the Mumbai team, which has so far managed only one win from their four matches this season. Mumbai's sole victory came against Kolkata Knight Riders, while they suffered defeats against Chennai, Gujarat, and Lucknow.
