Megastar Mammootty’s latest film Bazooka hit the theatres the other day. Santhosh Varkey, also known in social media circles as 'Arattannan,' has also acted in the film. Now, Santhosh Varkey has revealed that he had backed out midway through the shooting and didn’t even accept any payment.
“When I saw myself on the big screen, I couldn’t help but laugh. I understood why people were laughing. I acted in the film about one and a half to two years ago. I left midway and didn’t complete the shoot. I walked away because there wasn’t a proper place to change my costume. Looking back, I feel that was a silly reason to quit. I assumed my scenes would be removed, but to my surprise, they kept them in.
I’m really happy. I didn't have any combination scenes with Mammookka. They cast me not because of my acting talent but because of my popularity. I felt the film turned out well. Only Mammootty could have done this role—no one else could,” said Santhosh Varkey.
The film also features Tamil actor and director Gautham Vasudev Menon in a key role alongside Mammootty. He portrays a police officer named Benjamin Joshua. The cast also includes Siddharth Bharathan, Babu Antony, Hakkim Shajahan, Bhama Arun, Dean Dennis, Sumit Naval, Divya Pillai, and Spadikam George.
