'You will be in jail soon, best of luck'; Youngster lands in jail following wife's complaint, ends life soon

LUCKNOW: A youngster committed suicide after learning that his wife had complained to the police about him. The incident took place in Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. Raj Arya (28), took his life in grief over the incident. Relatives said that there were problems between Raj and his wife, Simran.

Raj's family alleged that he committed suicide due to mental torture by his wife. The woman had posted on Instagram saying, "You will be in jail at 10.30, best of luck, go to jail." Later, a police complaint was filed against her husband.

Raj was soon arrested by the police. It is alleged that Simran’s brother, a policeman, roughed up Raj during the night in custody the other day. Raj was mentally and physically exhausted when he returned home. Raj then told his mother that he would take a nap and asked her not to disturb him. He didn’t come out of the room even after hours, forcing the family to barge inside to see for themselves the youngster hanging from a fan.

Raj and Simran got married a year ago and have a son together. Simran returned to her house some time back after quarrels became common between them. Raj went to his wife's house, but the family refused to let Simran go with him. There are also reports that he was beaten up by her relatives.

Raj’s family alleged that Simran used to keep a paramour and was in contact with him even in the presence of her husband. The couple often fought over this. The police said they would investigate the incident thoroughly if Raj's family comes with a complaint.
