BENGALURU: Police conducted a major drug bust, seizing narcotics and items worth over Rs 6.77 crore. Ten individuals, including nine Malayalis and a Nigerian national, were arrested in three separate operations. Authorities targeted locations in Electronic City, Yelahanka New Town, and Begur.

In the first case, police arrested Jijo Prasad, a Malayali civil engineer renting in Bommasandra. They recovered 3.5 kg of hydroponic cannabis valued at Rs 4.5 crore from his home, along with Rs 25 lakh in cash. The high-grade cannabis was reportedly sold for up to Rs 12,000 per gram. Police are still searching for Prasad’s accomplice.

Eight Malayali youths were detained in a second case linked to the Yelahanka New Town police station. Officers seized 110 grams of MDMA, ten mobile phones, a tablet, and two cars from them.

A Nigerian national was arrested in Begur for acting as a middleman in drug sales. He was found with MDMA, a phone, and other materials worth Rs 2 crore. The accused had overstayed his visa and used fake documents to remain in India. He allegedly supplied drugs to college students and IT professionals.
