Woman drowns while taking reel in Ganga River

DEHRADUN: A woman drowned while trying to take a reel in Ganga River. The video of the incident which happened on April 15 is being circulated now. The incident happened in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi. The woman was seen entering Bhagirathi River, smiling at the camera, to take a reel. While trying to pose for the reel, she slipped into the water.

The video shows the woman struggling to get out of the water. Her 11-year-old daughter was taking the reel. The 16-second video of the incident has been released. The video shared says the woman has died. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding this.

Following the incident, the State Disaster Response Force and local police reached the spot and searched for the woman, but it is learnt that they have not been able to find her yet. Authorities said the woman is between 20 and 25 years old.
