Veteran director Alleppey Ashraf is known for revealing lesser-known incidents from the lives of film stars through his YouTube channel. He has now spoken about some dramatic moments in the lives of Malayalam actress Lakshmi, her daughter Aishwarya, and Lakshmi’s husband, actor Mohan.

"Lakshmi has been married three times. Her first marriage was to Bhaskar, an officer at an insurance company. That marriage did not last long. Lakshmi reportedly endured severe mental and physical abuse from him.

They had a daughter together, Aishwarya. When Aishwarya was around two or three years old, Lakshmi married Mohan. Mohan took care of Aishwarya as if she were his own daughter.

Lakshmi and Mohan’s marriage was a love marriage. They had acted together in the film Chattakari. At that time, Mohan’s family was based in Mumbai. Once, while shooting for a Hindi film, Lakshmi went to Mumbai.

She called Mohan and asked if he could accompany her for shopping. Since it was the heroine of Chattakari calling, Mohan couldn’t refuse. During the shopping trip, Lakshmi bought several perfumes. While shopping, Mohan saw a bottle shaped like a dog. When Mohan picked it up, he realised it was an aftershave lotion. But upon hearing the price, he put it back without buying it.

After shopping and a meal, they returned happily to the hotel. Just as Mohan was about to leave, Lakshmi handed him a package. When he opened it, he saw it was the same dog-shaped bottle he had earlier chosen not to buy due to the price.

Pointing to the bottle, Lakshmi said, ‘If you take me into your life, I can live like this.’ Her words shocked Mohan. Eventually, the two got married and started living together in Lakshmi’s bungalow.

After marriage, Mohan began receiving fewer opportunities, while Lakshmi’s career began to flourish. Mohan found himself handling household duties and taking care of Lakshmi’s child. Eventually, problems arose between them. Mohan said the issues were due to serious mistakes on Lakshmi’s part, but he never revealed what those mistakes were.

One day, Mohan packed his clothes and left. Some time later, Mohan remarried at his mother’s insistence. Eventually, differences arose between Lakshmi and her daughter Aishwarya as well. Aishwarya went to live with her grandmother. Lakshmi later married for a third time and adopted a child," Ashraf said.
