BENGALURU: Shocking new revelations have surfaced in the murder of former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash. According to police sources, his wife Pallavi reportedly threw chilli powder on his face during a heated argument. Following this, she allegedly tied his hands and stabbed him. It is also reported that a glass bottle was used in the attack. Police have stated that the investigation is still ongoing and more details are being gathered.

Pallavi first informed the wife of an IPS officer about Om Prakash's murder through a video call. The call was made around 4:30 PM, during which Pallavi reportedly said, “I killed that devil.” At the time of the incident, Pallavi’s daughter was also present in the house.

When the police arrived at the residence after being alerted, Pallavi and her daughter were found in the living room. Initially, they refused to open the door, forcing the police to break it open. Om Prakash's body was discovered in a pool of blood on the ground floor of the three-story home.

It is believed that the murder stemmed from a property dispute between Om Prakash and Pallavi. Reports suggest that the former DGP had transferred properties worth several crores to his sister, which had been a point of contention. Some properties had also been allocated to his son. The current police case was filed based on a complaint from the couple’s son.

Om Prakash (68) was found murdered at his residence in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, around 5 PM on Sunday. His wife Pallavi was immediately taken into police custody.

Multiple stab wounds were found on Om Prakash’s body. Authorities have said that everyone involved will be thoroughly questioned to determine the motive and identify any additional parties connected to the crime.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death. Om Prakash, originally from Champaran, Bihar, was a 1981-batch IPS officer of the Karnataka cadre. He served as the DGP & IGP of Karnataka from 2015 until his retirement in 2017.
