PAHALGAM: The nation is yet to recover from the shock of the terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, yesterday. 29 innocent people lost their lives in the attack. Now, the photo of one of the terrorists who opened fire on tourists has been released. This is the first time an image of one of the attackers has come out.

The image shows the attacker wearing a grey kurta and pyjama, carrying an AK-47 rifle. The attack occurred at a popular tourist destination in Baisaran, known as the "Mini Switzerland" for its scenic hills, where people had gathered for trekking. Baisaran, located in the Pahalgam area of Anantnag district, is a hill station accessible only by foot or on horseback.

The Resistance Front, a local offshoot of the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Reports indicate that the attack was led by Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Saifullah Kasuri.

It is believed the attack was orchestrated from Pakistan. A bike without a number plate was found at the scene, suspected to have been used by the terrorists. An investigation is underway to find the details of the bike. Six terrorists, including two from Kashmir, are believed to have carried out the attack. It is estimated that they crossed into Pakistan in 2017 for training and were part of the last batch of foreign-trained militants.
