THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam has issued an apology to the family of former CPI State Secretary Kanam Rajendran for failing to invite them to a recent public conference. Acknowledging the oversight, Viswam expressed his regret and personally reached out to Kanam’s son, Sandeep Rajendran, to convey his apologies over the phone.
Kanam Rajendran’s family had expressed their disappointment over not being invited to the public conference, which was held as part of the CPI National Council meeting. Kanam’s son, Sandeep Rajendran, shared a Facebook post voicing the family’s dissatisfaction.
The incident came to light after the event held in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday, where family members of deceased leaders were honoured. However, Sandeep stated that his family was not invited to the event. Refuting claims that their absence was due to inconvenience, Sandeep questioned in his post how they could have expressed inconvenience when they were never informed about the program in the first place. Binoy Viswam responded following the discussions that arose around Sandeep’s Facebook post.
