Rapper Vedan held with ganja, arrest likely to be registered soon

KOCHI: Ganja was seized from the flat of Hiran Das Murali also known as rapper Vedan. Seven grams of ganja were seized from his flat in Kochi. His arrest is likely to be registered soon.

The police arrived at around 10 am on the basis of information that drugs were being used in the flat. The ganja was found in a subsequent search. Vedan was in the flat when the search was conducted. A group of nine people were there at that time. Vedan is a native of Thrissur.

Two famous directors and their friend were arrested yesterday with hybrid ganja. Young directors Khalid Rahman (35) and Ashraf Hamza (46) were arrested in Kochi.
Both of them were suspended by FEFKA. Khalid Rahman is the director, scriptwriter and production partner of 'Alappuzha Gymkhana', which is still running in the box office. He has also directed films like Thallumala, Anuraga Karikkin Vellam and Unda. Ashraf Hamza is the director of films like Thamasha, Bheemantte Vazhi and Sulaikha Manzil.

The excise department arrested them and their friend Shali Mohammed (35) from the Poorva Grand Bay flat near Goshree Bridge in Ernakulam, belonging to renowned cinematographer Sameer Tahir at 2 am yesterday. The transaction was through Shali Mohammed.
