BENGALURU: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah tried to slap a police officer on a public stage. The Chief Minister was provoked by the protestors who had reached the venue of an event. A video of Siddaramaiah trying to slap Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Narayan Bharamani, who had committed a security lapse during a public event in Belgaum, Karnataka, is going viral on social media. The Congress had organised a protest against the central government in Belgaum over price hike. The incident took place during this event.
Bharamani was in charge of security. Siddaramaiah called Bharamani to the stage and explained the difficulties he faced and raised his hand and reprimanded him. The event was disrupted by a protest by BJP women workers near the venue. The Janata Dal (Secular) has lodged a protest against the Chief Minister over the incident.
