THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Thiruvananthapuram to dedicate the much-anticipated Vizhinjam Port to the nation. The Prime Minister's Air India One flight landed at the technical area of the Thiruvananthapuram airport at around 7.50 PM. Following his arrival, the Prime Minister proceeded to the Raj Bhavan. He will attend a dinner tonight with Governor Rajendra Arlekar. Tomorrow at 10.15 AM, the Prime Minister will reach Vizhinjam in an Indian Air Force helicopter. He will then inspect the port operations and officially inaugurate the port.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Union Minister for Ports Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Ministers Suresh Gopi and George Kurian, State Minister V.N. Vasavan, MP Shashi Tharoor, and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani are among those scheduled to speak at the event.

In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, strict security measures have been implemented in the capital city. The Special Protection Group (SPG) has taken over port security, while the Coast Guard and Navy will oversee security at sea.
