President Droupadi Murmu offers prayers at Lord Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala

PATHANAMTHITTA: President Droupadi Murmu offered prayers at the Lord Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala. The President along with her security officers reached Sannidhanam at around 11.30 am. Temple chiefs helped her with the irumudi kettu which she has to carry. When the President climbed the 18 steps and reached up, Tantri Kandararu Mahesh Mohanan received him with the poornakumbam.

The President landed at Pramadam at 9.05 am and reached Pampa by road. After praying the uchapuja, she will rest at the Devaswom Guest House. Reports said she will remain at the Sannidhanam till evening. She climbed the hill in a special vehicle under tight security.

She will return to Thiruvananthapuram by night. She will then attend a dinner hosted by Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar at Hotel Hyatt Regency. Restrictions have been imposed at Sabarimala over the President's visit. On October 23 at 10.30 am, the half-length statue of K R Narayanan will be unveiled at Raj Bhavan. She will be the chief guest at the Sree Narayana Guru Mahasamadhi Centenary Celebrations at Sivagiri in Varkala at 12.50 pm.

On October 24, the President will land at the Naval Headquarters in Kochi at 11.35 am and will participate as the chief guest in the centenary celebrations of St. Teresa's College, Ernakulam. After lunch at Bolgatty Palace, she will return to Delhi from the international airport at 4.05 pm.
