THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty said that no entrance exam will be allowed for admission to Class I. The minister also clarified that no irregularities will be allowed for Plus One admission. The minister was explaining the activities ahead of the school reopening.
'PTA meetings should be held in all schools in the state on the 20th of this month. Cleaning activities should be carried out in schools on May 25 and 26. The safety of classrooms should be ensured. The fitness of schools where construction work is underway should be ensured. The construction site should be separated. Illegal collection by PTA will not be allowed. Strict action will be taken against such schools. PTA, teachers and local bodies should conduct a safety review. Anti-tobacco and anti-drug boards should be installed. The quality of drinking water should be ensured,' the minister directed.
The minister also said that an investigation will be conducted into the low pass percentage in the SSLC examination this time. A list of ten government-aided schools with low pass percentage has been taken. The minister also clarified that a special inspection will be conducted in this regard. It was announced that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the state-level school entrance festival at the Kalavoor Government Higher Secondary School in Alappuzha.
