'Viyarp Thunniitta Kuppayam' was written in a single day, happy to be recognized as a lyricist rather than a singer: Rapper Vedan

THRISSUR: Rapper Vedan (Hiran Das Murali) said that he is very happy to have received the State Film Award. Vedan was awarded the State Film Award for Best Lyricist.

"This is recognition for the politics that an artist raises. I am happy to be recognized as a lyricist rather than a singer. This award is an example of recognition for the work that is taken. I am grateful to everyone who stood by me," said Vedan. "The song 'Viyarp Thunniitta Kuppayam' that won the award is a song written in one day. I am grateful to Chidambaram, the director of Manjummel Boys. Chidambaram had told me what was needed during the discussions of the film. That is what I delivered. It became a hit because the listeners accepted it," responded Vedan.
