THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC President Sunny Joseph has announced that discussions on the reorganisation of the Congress party in Kerala have begun. Only necessary changes will be made, and most existing office bearers will continue in their positions. Speaking at his first press conference since taking charge as KPCC President, Sunny Joseph clarified that the party does not follow the practice of reshuffling all ministers just because there is a change in the Chief Minister.

He emphasised that the party would work towards strengthening its grassroots base and efforts would be made to bring back alliance partners who had left. He also stated that it is the duty of the opposition to highlight the government's failures. He pointed out that the government is celebrating its fourth anniversary at a time when it is grappling with a severe financial crisis.

"The education sector is like a sugarcane field trampled by an elephant. In the health sector, there have only been claims and no real achievements. The four-year-long governance has been anti-people. The Congress will lead Kerala toward the liberation it both desires and deserves from all of this. Shashi Tharoor's earlier remark calling the Chief Minister a strong leader was later corrected. He made that statement due to some factual inaccuracies, which he later realised and rectified on his own."

Sunny Joseph was accompanied by the newly appointed Working Presidents P.C. Vishnunath and Shafi Parambil, along with KPCC General Secretary M. Liju.

90 out of 100 for opposition, government doesn't even deserve pass mark
Sunny Joseph asserted that the state government, which is completing four years in office, doesn't even deserve a pass mark. However, he awarded the opposition a score of 90 out of 100. When asked by journalists why 10 marks were deducted, he replied, “Those 10 marks will be added in the fifth year.”
