Shocking twist in Kalyani's murder! Post-mortem report confirms sexual assault, close relative in custody

KOLENCHERY: As per reports, Puthenkurish police took a man into custody over the death of Kalyani, the four-year-old allegedly thrown into the Chalakudy River by her mother the other day. The postmortem report of the child that surfaced on Wednesday confirmed sexual assault.

Kalyani’s father Subhash’s close relative was taken into custody over the incident. It is reported that he is being questioned even late into the night.

An emergency meeting was held on Wednesday at the Rural SP office, led by high-ranking officials. The relative was summoned later. As per reports, it is Subhash’s brother who is now in custody. Police have registered a POCSO case in the incident. Police have not yet made any comments on the matter.

The child's mother, Sandhya (36), who is on remand in the case, will be taken into police custody for detailed questioning. Chengamanad CI Soni Mathai said that a seven-day custody application will be submitted to the Aluva court on Thursday.
