Anesthesia technician suffers head injury while removing flow meter of oxygen tank at Medical College Hospital

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A technician was injured after the flow meter in an oxygen cylinder hit his head while being detached at the Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. The incident took place on Friday afternoon.

The flow meter of an oxygen cylinder in Theater B of the Medical College Hospital detached and struck the head of the technician with great force. Anesthesia technician Abhishek, injured in the incident was taken to the casualty department for treatment.

He was then sent back home to rest. However, by around 11 pm on Friday, the youngster started vomiting and experienced further discomfort. He was rushed back to the hospital and the subsequent tests revealed a fractured skull. Abhishek is currently undergoing treatment in the MICU as part of a 24-hour observation.
