THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More details have come out regarding the incident where a young man and a woman were arrested with hybrid ganja worth Rs 10 crore at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. Malappuram natives Shaheed (23) and Shahana (21) were arrested by the Customs the other day. The authorities said that investigations are ongoing to determine if the two have links to an international drug trafficking network.

Initially, Shaheed and Shahana told officials that they were students in Bengaluru. They attempted to smuggle 10.06 kilograms of hybrid cannabis hidden inside food packages. The accused arrived on a Scoot Airlines flight from Bangkok via Singapore around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. According to reports, the two met at a pub in Bengaluru and became friends. Investigations revealed that it was Shahana who took Shaheed to Thailand. It has also been discovered that the woman had undertaken similar trips in the past. Hybrid cannabis is known to be ten times more potent that regular cannabis, and it commands a high price in the international market.
