BENGALURU: Husband arrested for decapitating his wife and riding a scooter with her head in front of him. The murder took place in Heelalighe village near Chandapura in Karnataka. Shankar (28), a native of Kachanayakanahalli, was arrested by the police in the incident. The police said that the murder was motivated by suspicion that Shankar's wife Manasa (26) was having an extramarital affair. Shankar and Manasa have a three-year-old son.
Shankar was caught while riding with his wife's severed head on a scooter on the road from Chandapura to Anekal. The police took him into custody after noticing a man riding the scooter with blood stains on his clothes. The woman's head was then found on the scooter's platform. During interrogation, Shankar confessed that it was his wife's head and that he had killed her.
Shankar and Manasa got married in 2020. Both were employees of a private company. They had moved into a rented house in Heelalighe a month ago. Shankar suspected that Manasa was having an affair with another man. The two used to fight frequently over this. Shankar called the man, whom he alleged was Manasa's boyfriend, to his house and sent Manasa away with him.
Manasa, who had moved to a hostel from here, called her husband after ten days and told him that she would discuss the issues. Manasa said that everything should be resolved peacefully, keeping in mind the child's future. Accordingly, Manasa reached Shankar's place of residence. However, during the conversation, an argument broke out and Shankar hacked Manasa to death with an axe.
