Naslen faces hate campaign amidst news of 'Premalu 2'

In a recent interview with an online channel, Bhavana Studios' producer Dileesh Pothan confirmed delaying ‘Premalu 2’. He confirmed that the next project under Bhavana Studios' would indeed be helmed by director Gireesh AD of Premalu fame but the plot and cast will be different.

The production house had earlier confirmed that the shoot of ‘Premalu 2’ would begin by June and said that the location hunting was going on. However, ambiguity loomed during the last few months when rumours started to spread about the lead actor showing apprehension to be part of the project.

This confirmation has further accentuated the gossip of actor Naslen dropping the project over differences in the script. There were also rumours about the actor falling out with the makers over remuneration. For some others, the dilemma over the project was the purported rift between the director and Naslen following the less prominent role offered. However, the veracity of these claims is questionable.

Meanwhile, Naslen has been at the receiving end of a sudden hate campaign on social media after news about Premalu 2 getting shelved surfaced. Many sceptics blamed the actor for forgetting his roots and focusing solely on building a stardom leaving behind his celebrated goofy roles. At the same time, many came in support of the actor and praised him for climbing the ladder of success solely through his talent rather than pillion-riding on nepotism.

Naslen’s last movie ‘Alappuzha Gymkhana’ fared decent at the box office but couldn’t emulate the success of his previous films.
