THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police took Sukanth Suresh, the accused in the IB officer's suicide case, to various places to collect evidence. The police also found that Sukanth had stayed with the woman at Udaipur in Rajasthan for two days. The police have recovered information of the two staying in two hotels in Rajasthan for a day each.
Sukanth said that he was in a friendly relationship with her and that the trips were part of it. The investigation team after collecting evidence from Rajasthan, left for Tamil Nadu with the accused yesterday. The evidence collection was based on Sukanth’s statement that they had also travelled to Tamil Nadu with her. After collecting evidence from Tamil Nadu, they will return to Thiruvananthapuram on June 21st. Sukanth will be produced in the court as his police custody period ends that day. The police have also got hints of his relationship with other women.
An IB officer from Pathanamthitta was found dead on the railway tracks in Pettah, Thiruvananthapuram on March 24. The woman's family then came forward, accusing her friend Sukanth of being behind their daughter's death. The police initially registered a case of unnatural death. As soon as the investigation began, Sukanth and his family went into hiding. In the meantime, the woman's father provided evidence for his daughter being sexually abused. The police then filed a case of rape against Sukanth. After a weeks-long search, Sukanth, who had gone into hiding, was arrested.
