Actress Samantha has confirmed that she will not be part of the promotional events for the re-release of the romantic drama Ye Maaya Chesave.
The film, which marked the first on-screen collaboration of Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, is special to fans as their real-life love story also began during its filming. With the movie set to return to theatres, speculation had risen about both actors joining hands for the promotions. Samantha, however, dismissed the rumours.
“I have no intention of promoting that film. I don’t know where such reports are coming from. Maybe fans want to see the lead pair together again, but we can’t live according to people’s expectations,” said Samantha.
Ye Maaya Chesave is the Telugu remake of Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Tamil hit Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. Following this film, Samantha and Chaitanya worked together in films such as Autonagar Surya, Manam, Majili, and Mahanati.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya got married in October 2017. The couple announced their separation just days before their fourth wedding anniversary in 2021, shocking fans. Naga Chaitanya later married actress Sobhita Dhulipala.
