THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 'Many people will try to provoke by bringing sticks. Everyone should be careful not to fall for such provocations. With the local body elections coming up, everyone should be careful not to sit on the channel and talk deliriously when you see the mic'. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's words indirectly criticised CPM State Secretary MV Govindan for his remarks regarding RSS ties. The Chief Minister's warning was made at a meeting attended by about 230 people, including members of the party's state committee and district secretariat and top leaders, at the AKG Center yesterday.
Pinarayi's comments were not directly blaming the state secretary, but rather a cautionary note. The Chief Minister said that although there were various attempts to provoke during the Nilambur by-election, the Left was able to confront all of them together and campaign effectively. The Chief Minister clarified that a small controversy arose in the midst of that. The annual leadership meeting regarding the party's activities was held yesterday.
