Priest found hanging in church building in Kasaragod

KASARAGOD: A priest was found hanging in Ambalathara. The dead is Fr Antony Ullattil (44), an assistant at Porkalam MCBS Ashram. His body was found Friday morning in the room of the old building belonging to the church. The Ambalathara police reached the spot and started the inquest and other proceedings.

The initial conclusion of the police is that the incident happened around 10:30 yesterday morning. Fr Antony is a native of Iritty Edoor. He leaves behind his parents and two younger brothers. He had been staying in the ashram for the past one year. Another priest of the ashram went out and returned late at night. When he did not find him for the morning mass, he found a letter in his room. The letter said that he was in a rented house and that is how the priest's body was found.
