'Govt will always be there for Bindu's family'; Minister Veena George pays tribute to Bindu

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister Veena George has paid tribute to Bindu, who lost her life in the building collapse at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. In her Facebook post, the Health Minister shared the family's grief and assured that the government will stand by their side.

The Minister's Facebook post:

'The tragic incident at Kottayam Medical College, which took the life of dear Bindu, is deeply painful. Her family's grief is my own. I extend my heartfelt condolences and pay tribute to her. The government will stand by Bindu’s family.'

The accident occurred yesterday morning when a building at the Kottayam Medical College Hospital collapsed. Three people were injured and one person lost their life in the incident. The deceased was D. Bindu (54) of Kunnel house, Meppath, Ummankunnu, Thalayolaparambu. There has been widespread protest across the state alleging negligence in the rescue operation, which reportedly led to Bindu’s death. Demands have also been raised for Minister Veena George to resign.
