THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A recent survey indicates that Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is the most popular choice for the next Chief Minister of Kerala from the UDF. Tharoor acknowledged the survey results by sharing a post on the social media platform X, along with a folded hands emoji.

The survey was conducted by a private agency named Kerala Vote Vibe. It shows that 62% of the respondents want the current MLAs to be replaced, while only 23% prefer them to continue. Tharoor received the highest support among UDF leaders, with 28.3% choosing him as their CM candidate. The survey also found that 30% of men and 27% of women backed Tharoor.

On the LDF side, only 17.5% supported current Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for another term. However, former minister K.K. Shailaja was preferred by 24.2% of those surveyed as the LDF’s Chief Ministerial candidate. Kerala is expected to go to the polls for its next Assembly election in May next year.
