Union Minister and actor Suresh Gopi's latest film JSK is gearing up for release despite getting caught in a legal tangle. While attending the promotion of the movie, Suresh Gopi talked about a certain phase in his career last year that pushed him to the chambers of depression. The revelation from the actor came during an interview on a YouTube channel.

Suresh Gopi:

“I was in a state of depression. I had to suppress my passion. During my career in films, I used to wake up every morning, exuberant, with the thought of putting on make-up for the roles I would act in front of the lens. From June 10, 2024, I was given a new responsibility and had to give up my cinema hopes. I was caught up in grief, and it was later that the second in command (Amit Shah) gave some concessions. It was for the same reason that I could act in movies. I am totally happy now that I can continue my job along with my passion.”

Last year, there were reports that the Centre would impose restrictions on Suresh Gopi from acting in films after he became a Union Minister. There was also a rumour about BJP leadership making it certain that Suresh could not pursue a ministerial position while acting at the same time. But later, Union Minister Amit Shah permitted Suresh Gopi to complete his film projects.

After JSK, Suresh Gopi's film ‘Ottakomban’ is in the pipeline.
