Malappuram woman who jumped into river found dead

MALAPPURAM: The body of a woman who jumped into the river from the bridge was found on Saturday. Devananda (21), a native of Tirurangadi, died in the incident. The woman jumped from the Koottilangadi bridge at around 8:30 last night. The woman's body was found today during a search operation conducted by the police, fire department and locals.

The young woman lives in Munduparamba, Malappuram. A couple who were passing on this route from Koottilangadi to Malappuram on a bike saw the young woman sitting on the handrail of the bridge. When enquired about her sitting dangerously on the bridge, the woman jumped into the river, sending shivers down the helpless couple. The police and the locals were immediately alarmed.

CCTV footage surfaced shows the young woman, who appears to be in her 20s, walking down the road. At the time, the police were searching for Devananda following a missing complaint. upon carefull scrutinising the CCTV, Police concluded that it was Devananda who jumped inot the river.
