Recently, actress Nisha Sarang, known for her role in the sitcom “Uppum Mulakum”, decided not to appear again in the popular serial. In her latest interview with a private channel in Kerala, Nisha opened up about the ordeal she faced in the last few years and the perseverance that helped her hold on.
NISHA SARANG :
“I am a person who always intervenes in any issue that happens in the set where I’m working. Even when a few used to storm out of the set over petty differences, I used to talk with them, in a bid to placate the tensions. It may be needless on my part, but it is what ima as I want peace to prevail.
It is an open secret that the technicians in the serial field are paid meagerly compared with what artists like us take as remuneration. I started facing attacks within the industry for defending a technician who was falsely accused of taking a commission. It was an actor who spread these stories against the technician, who was also a kidney patient. I found out the truth and confronted the actor, and even requested not spread such stories against others. I knew of the repercussions that were waiting on store for me but was not perturbed.
After a few days, I started facing attacks in the form of rumours and gossip. The actor even informed my family that I was in love with another actor on the set and was about to marry him. At one point, even my daughter came to ask me about the truth. I cleared the air about the issue with my family, and they are all fine now.
However, I believe that I will be offered by god a day to explain my side of the whole issue. I am waiting for that day to spill more truth about what really happened. And till then, I will ruthlessly defend myself from all these attacks because if I am not ready to bow down or give up my profession.”
