A video of Dr. Elizabeth Udayan, YouTuber and former partner of actor Bala, went viral on social media this morning. In the video, Elizabeth is seen lying on a hospital bed with a tube inserted in her nose.

Without directly naming Bala, Elizabeth stated that if anything were to happen to her, he and his family would be responsible. The video, posted on her Facebook page, carried a caption saying she wanted justice before her death.

Following the post, social media was flooded with concern and questions about what had happened to Elizabeth. Reports now suggest that she attempted to take her own life.

According to one media outlet, she attempted suicide by consuming an overdose of sleeping pills last evening at BJ Hospital in Ahmedabad. It was her colleagues who found her in a semi-conscious state and took immediate action.

In the video shared on Facebook, Elizabeth says she is under severe mental stress. She also mentioned filing a complaint with the Chief Minister, but said it had no effect. She added that claims that the marriage never took place had caused her emotional distress, and revisiting those memories had further affected her mental state.

Many people commented on her post with concern and support. Comments included “You’re a doctor, right? Why would you do something so foolish?”, “This life on this beautiful earth comes only once… Why sacrifice it for someone else? Live on and rise stronger in front of those who tried to break you.”
