Youngster mowed down by bus while trying to avoid potholes in Thrissur; BJP, Congress stage huge protest

THRISSUR: A man died tragically after being mowed down by a bus after he fell on the road while trying to avoid potholes in Thrissur on Saturday morning. The accident occurred this morning in Ayyanthole, Thrissur. Abel Chacko (24), a native of Lalur and a bank employee, died in the tragic accident.

According to locals, Abel was mowed down by a private bus after he fell on the road. Following the accident, Congress and BJP workers in the area staged a protest blocking the road. In the wake of the continuing accidents on the city's roads, the Congress and the BJP demanded immediate and punitive action against the officials or the ministry concerned.

Two weeks ago, a youth met with a tragic end in a similar accident on Thrissur MG Road. Widespread anger was palpable among locals as many blamed the police for showing laxity despite accidents surging in the area during the last few months.
