'I recall our interactions....': Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoles the passing VS Achuthanandan

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the passing of former Kerala CM Shri VS Achuthanandan. Modi recalled that VS was a person who dedicated many years of his life to public service and Kerala's progress. Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat when VS was the Chief Minister of Kerala. The Prime Minister also made it clear in a post shared on X that he still remembers the interactions they had when they were both Chief Ministers of the states.

In a post on X, he said:

“Saddened by the passing of former Kerala CM Shri VS Achuthanandan Ji. He devoted many years of his life to public service and Kerala's progress. I recall our interactions when we both served as Chief Ministers of our respective states. My thoughts are with his family and supporters in this sad hour.”

VS passed away at 3.20 pm on Monday at SUT Hospital in Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram. He has been undergoing treatment there since June 23. His wife Vasumathi and children V.A. Arunkumar and V.V. Asha were present at the time of his death. He has served as the party's state secretary, opposition leader, chief minister and chairman of the Administrative Reforms Commission.
