NEW DELHI: India established diplomatic talks with Iran and more Gulf countries to secure the release of Nimisha Priya, the Malayali nurse facing the death penalty in a Yemeni prison on account of murder charges. According to central government representatives, New Delhi is engaging in amicable diplomatic parleys with countries that have a strong rapport with Yemen.
According to the central government, sending a team for mediation talks with the victim’s family will only worsen the current stalemate. Central government sources say that the security concerns are arising as the Action Council is about to submit the list of the four-member delegation to the central government for travel permission.
