THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The possibility of resuming a flight that previously operated from Kerala to the Gulf and vice versa has arisen. Air India Express had discontinued the Salalah-Thiruvananthapuram service. Air India Express Oman Head Varun Kadekar said that the marketing department has sent a directive to start the service from Salalah to Thiruvananthapuram via Kozhikode. He was discussing matters related to the express service with Consular Agent Dr K Sanathanan. Dr K Sanathanan said that the meeting was fruitful and that the problems of passengers in Oman were brought to his attention.

The meeting held at Dr Sanathanan's office in Sanaiya was also attended by Varun Kadekar- Country Manager of Air India Express at Oman, Mahesh Wadhwa-Senior Business Development Manager of Kimji House of Travel, the operators of Air India Express, and Airport Supervisor M Gopakumar.

A few months ago, Loka Kerala Sabha members Pavithran Karai and Hema Gangadharan had organized a protest meeting attended by representatives of various organizations to bring the travel issues of Salalah Malayalis to the attention of the concerned authorities. They had also submitted a wide-ranging complaint to the Chief Minister, the Aviation Minister, the Foreign Minister and MPs.
