When allegations were levelled against me, I stayed away. Baburaj should also stay away from the polls. There are many cases against him, let him return after proving his innocence. When there are efficient people like you to lead the organization, then why continuing in it. The organization is bigger than any individual. It will continue strongly. Baburaj should not take it personally. I believe that this time a woman should take the lead for a change.
Actress Mallika Sukumaran had also requested that Baburaj should not be in the race. The accused should stay away. The actress had also said that if Baburaj contests, many doubts will arise.
Mohanlal had earlier stepped down from the president’s post of AMMA. With the announcement of the elections, Jagadish, Shwetha Menon and Baburaj had filed their nominations. The last date for filing nomination papers is Thursday. Baburaj is contesting for the post of general secretary. Actor Raveendran is contesting for the post of vice president or treasurer.
