'Still in shock, I'm a mother too'; Anchor responds to social media criticism over viral interview

Despite a myriad of incidents that required attention, the social media in Kerala was glued to an online interview that stirred a debate for the facetious remark made by a popular social media personality.

Mammu, a teen from Malappuram, is quite famous among youths on social media for being the sidekick of Nihad aka Thoppi, a famous streamer. In a recent interview for an online portal, Mammu, in his usual carefree attitude, talked about how he used to peek into the bathroom of neighbours whenever women were bathing.

The shock got doubled when the female anchor, expected to correct the teen, instead joined in the fun to nudge him more with racy questions. Soon after the video was uploaded, social media expressed shock over such a serious topic being dealt with inappropriate humour. Anchor Nainisha, who received the wrath for the interview, has now uploaded an apology video elaborating on the issue.

Nainisha:

“I have taken almost 300 and more interviews, but such an incident is unprecedented. I'm not here to justify my side. When the guest talked like that, I just joined him and was caught unaware. My response was absurd and is in no way justifiable. I am now in trauma over the social media attack. I am a woman and even a mother. So, I clearly know the feelings of women and respect them very much.

When I rewatched the interview, I got embarrassed. I have no qualms with my critics on social media. I will make sure such a gaffe doesn’t happen again.”
