KOLLAM: A man, who flashed at a woman in the KSRTC bus has been held. The one held is Sunil Kumar of Mylakkadu. He was taken into custody Wednesday morning from near the Ithikkara Bridge.
Police said that he was trying to go to Palakkad. The Kollam City Police had earlier issued a lookout notice for the accused. He flashed at the woman on Monday night at 10.50 pm.
The woman of Kollam boarded a Mavelikkara fast passenger bus from Kottiyam junction to return home after her PSC combine study. She was sitting in the third seat from the front. When the bus reached Mevaram, the accused, who was sitting in the seat opposite her, flashed at her. With this, the woman recorded the visuals on her mobile phone. A native of Mylakkadu also got off at the Kollam depot after her. When her brother came to pick her, the accused boarded another bus and left the place.
The woman had filed a complaint with the city police commissioner yesterday morning along with the visuals. When the visuals of Sunil Kumar flashing at her went viral on social media, the local residents identified the accused. When the locals reached his house in Mylakkadu and raised a commotion, the accused said that he was at home at the time of the incident. The accused, a painter, left his house after the locals returned.
