Woman claims husband died of stroke, investigation reveals different story; wife and daughter arrested

DISPUR: A woman and her daughter have been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband and attempting to disguise the crime as a case of stroke. The accused, identified as Bobby Sonowal, conspired with her daughter, a Class 9 student, to kill her husband, Uttam Gogoi. The shocking incident took place on July 25 in Lahon Gaon, Dibrugarh, Assam. The victim’s daughter and two boys have also been taken into police custody.

According to the police, Bobby Sonowal initially misled the investigators by claiming that her husband was a victim of a robbery. She also told Uttam’s brother that he had died due to a stroke. However, when the brother noticed an injury on Uttam’s ear, he grew suspicious and informed the police.

Following an investigation, police confirmed it was a case of murder and subsequently arrested Bobby, her daughter, and the two boys. Dibrugarh Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Reddy stated that the four accused shared close ties.
