THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somanath was selected for the Kerala Science Award (Sastrapuraskaram). This is in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the field of space research. The award consists of Rs Two lakh, a citation and a sculpture designed by legendary Kanayi Kunhiraman. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will present the award at a function to be held at the Hyatt Regency on the 7th of this month.
Alappuzha native Somanath’s contributions elevated the Indian space sector to be in par with the global leaders in space. Somanath effortlessly led ISRO to success in the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
