WASHINGTON: A furious US President Donald Trump yet again threatened to increase tariffs on imports duties on India within 24 hours.
The 25 per cent import duty announced by Trump will be imposed from Thursday. Trump accused India of not being a good trading partner. Trump argued that India, which buys Russian oil in large quantities, sells it on the open market for huge profits. The US president said that India was fuelling the war in Ukraine and showed no humanitarian consideration for the people killed in the Russia-sponsored offensive.
India strongly rejected Trump's threat, pointing out that the criticisms are unjustified and irrational.
